The Irvine Spectrum Center is an entertainment based outdoor shopping center in Southern California, first opened in 1995. BCV Architects is working with The Irvine Company to re-envision Spectrum as a vibrant community destination, integrating curated retail, a variety of dining options and a reworking of public plaza and gathering areas.
Among BCV’s recently completed projects at Spectrum are Brio and Del Frisco’s restaurants and a new gateway public space on the north side of the project which is designed as a great circular piazza. Interactive light features surround a large ficus tree, making this a dramatic entry by day and night. Ongoing projects envision a major evolution of the center's east-west circulation zones and the completion of the pedestrian loop.
