Controller

BCV is seeking a Controller to join our San Francisco office. We welcome experienced accounting professionals who have served in Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller roles and are ready to take ownership of the financial operations of a growing design practice.

The Controller is responsible for supporting the firm's overall financial health and operational success. This highly visible role encompasses financial management, accounting, project cost management, human resources administration, and strategic business support.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Principals, Project Managers, consultants, and staff. Experience in architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), professional services, or project-based organizations is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college/university.
  • CPA, MBA, or other advanced credentials preferred but not required.
  • 4+ years of accounting and financial management experience, including experience in a Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), budgeting, financial analysis, project accounting, and federal and multi-state tax compliance.
  • Experience supporting leadership teams with financial planning, reporting, and operational decision-making.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The ideal candidate has experience maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, reporting, and business operations.

Software & Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with significant experience using comparable accounting or ERP systems are encouraged to apply but must be willing and able to learn Deltek Vantagepoint immediately upon hire.
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms is considered highly transferable:
    ○ Deltek Vision and/or Ajera
    ○ Sage Intacct
    ○ BQE CORE
    ○ Unanet AE ERP
    ○ Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, financial modeling, reporting, data analysis, and spreadsheet management.
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and PDF workflows, including document assembly, editing, bookmarking, form creation, redaction, electronic signatures, and document management.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and other business software platforms is beneficial.

Project Manager - Hospitality

BCV is looking for a professional, thoughtful and self-motivated individual with strong design, technical detailing and coordination skills who is able to assume the role of a Project Manager for hospitality projects. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with strengths in early, presentation work, along with experience in leading construction document production. Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup and Revit is a must. 3D Max and Adobe CC is preferred

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university
  • 10+ years architectural office experience with a focus on hospitality projects such as restaurants, food retail and public markets
  • Professional licensure and LEED® certification, or demonstrated path towards completion
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit and Adobe CC

This position is full-time and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Benefits include paid time off, health and dental insurance, 401k and profit-sharing plans, and incentives to complete the A.R.E. and gain LEED certification.

Compensation Range:​ $115,000–$130,000

 

Intermediate Architectural Designer - San Francisco

BCV is opening positions for an Architectural Designer with 3-6 years of experience​ to join our firm in San Francisco. ​ The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and versatile designer, capable of supporting jobs from concept studies and presentations through technical execution. ​ Fluency in Revit/AutoCAD and Adobe CC is required, experience with residential projects is highly preferred, and an interest in hospitality design is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture from an accredited college/university
  • 3-6 years of professional experience
  • Experience with building codes, DOB filing, and local practice preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe CC
  • SketchUp or other modeling/rendering experience

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $90,000

 

Job Captain – San Francisco

BCV is opening positions for a Job Captain​ with 6 or more years of experience to join our firm in San Francisco. ​ The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and versatile designer, capable of supporting jobs from concept studies and presentations through technical execution. ​ Fluency in Revit/AutoCAD and Adobe CC is required, experience with residential projects and hospitality design is required.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university
  • 6 or more years of professional experience
  • Experience with full-scope residential and hospitality design and documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills
